In January 2010 the FDA finally reversed its earlier position and now believes exposure to bisphenol A (BPA) is not safe. BPA is commonly found in baby bottles. So over the past week we have been reviewing 12 BPA-free baby bottles we found.
We have already reviewed the Adiri and Avent BPA-free baby bottles, the Wee Go Nurser by Babylife, the Born Free bottles, and the Evenflo glass nurser.
Today, we ask nannies and au pairs to share what they like about the Green to Grow baby bottles.
The Green to Grow line of BPA-free plastic baby bottles grew from a couple's alarm as they read reports that highlighted the potential dangers of plastics. The parents were upset to discover that most baby bottles are made of polycarbonate plastic, which contains the hormone disruptor bisphenol A—a neurological, developmental, and reproductive toxicant. So, they launched a new baby bottle line with safer alternatives made from premium grade materials, even if they cost a little more. And to ensure the highest level of quality and safety, they decided to have our bottles independently tested for bisphenol A, phthalates, and lead at reputable labs in the U.S. and in Europe.

Have you used Green to Grow baby bottles? Do you like them?
These are the cutest bottles! Great for parents that are concerned with chemicals. I think asthma, autism, early development in girls, cancers are due to so many new chemicals we use since the industrialized revolution.
ReplyDeleteNow it has proven BPA and chemicals from platics and tins adversely affect fetus and infants. Won't be long until the same will be proven in older children and adults.
This is a great bottle you can be sure is bpa free.
I love how lightweight they are because it makes them great for subway, bus and cab rides. I love how I can make 10+ ounces fit in a bottle so hungry baby has more to eat. I love how cute they are. I love how easy to clean they are. The shape is easy for older infants (8 months +) to hold themselves.

I like the wide neck ones. The nipple does collapse but it's not that big of a deal because I just pull out the nipple every-so-often during the feeding and let the nipple fill back up.

I think these are adorable. I prefer the wide neck but that's a personal choice because I am messy probably. Nipple collapses when baby suck too hard. Only vomplaint might be that occasionally the nipple collapses when baby sucks too hard. That has happened with other bottles for me too.
